Introducing Wild, Chocolate, Fireblame, and Snowy. 🙂 The coop has not been built yet, but the container is working beautifully for now. We really like our little chicks. They will start laying in about 4 months.

Hi! I’m Melinda. I live in an old, 1901 farmhouse with my husband and kids on 5 rolling green acres on Bainbridge Island, a storybook island 35 minutes from Seattle. This blog chronicles our life together restoring our beautiful farmhouse, building a food and flower farm, and cooking up love and happiness daily in our old farmhouse kitchen. I’m trying to live off the land almost entirely from the food we grow ourselves. I post recipes, tips, videos, essays, and photos of the natural world around us. We also have videos on YouTube, and you can find Eating Buckets on Facebook and Instagram. Thank you for joining us! I look forward to getting to know you!! View all posts by Melinda
